- Common Name : Paris Peacock
 - Scientific Name : Princeps paris (Linn.) 
 - Family : PAPILIONIDAE
 - Wingspan :  90-140mm 
 - Colour : Upper wings are black and with dark green scales, the hind wing has a  large metallic blue patch that changes shades. The underside of its wings is dark brown.
 - Habit : Very fast flying, males observed displaying hill-topping behaviour, visits damp patches, frequents forest streams. The butterfly is restless while feeding and keeps flapping its wings.
 - Larval Host Plants : Citrus sp., Evodia roxburghiana, Toddalia asiatica, Zanthoxylum ovalifolium
